The Department of Economics and Management “Marco Fanno” or DEM is one of the youngest Departments in one of the most ancient European universities: the University of Padova located in Italy’s North-East, whose origin dates back to 1222. The Department was founded in 1990 and it soon became a leading centre in the higher education of business and economic sciences. The University of Padova, one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious seats of learning, is a multi-disciplinary university that aims to provide its students with both professional training and a solid cultural background.

The DEM is one of the leading research institutions in Italy for economics and business and nominated one of the “Departments of Excellence for research” in 2018 by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. More information hereThe DEM offers an international PhD program with a long tradition of quality and success that complements the department’s offer of bachelor and master degrees. Outstanding candidates are invited to apply for the nine scholarships being offered. More information here.

The PhD program is composed of two distinct curricula, Economics and Management. The coursework during the first year is separate for the two curricula and divided in three terms. More details here.
