Program Details

Founded in 2003, the University of Luxembourg is the only public university of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Multilingual, international and research-oriented, it is also a modern institution with a personal atmosphere, situated on Belval Campus and in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. 

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) at the University of Luxembourg offers a unique academic and research environment. The doctoral program in Labour Economics being offered here is a fixed- term 14-months initial contract, extendable to 36 months. It is a fully-funded, full-time position. The Doctoral School of Economics and Finance offers an exciting international and multilingual high-quality research environment. Personal work-space, and regular personal exchanges with the supervisor and the members of the thesis committee is facilitated.

The role of the researcher comprises the following:

  • The doctoral researcher will be working within the Centre for Research in Economics and Management. The doctoral researcher is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of labour economics. Applicants with pa articular interest in empirical research using survey or administrative data and in policy evaluation would be given a strong preference.
  • The candidate’s main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of labour economics, under the supervision of Konstantinos Tatsiramos. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be part of a jointly-supervised work with another university.
  • Contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.
