Program Details

Otto von Guericke University-Magdeburg, one of the youngest Universities in Germany, is named after the physicist Otto von Guericke, famous for his experiments with the Magdeburg hemispheres.

The goal of the Master’s program in Financial Economics (FINEC) is to enable students to both recognise and analyse economic problems on an academic level. They will be able to independently develop solutions and utilise alternative problem-solving methods to think in a systematic way. These are valuable abilities that will allow students to understand and to evaluate complex relationships from multiple points of view.

The study program builds upon a strong basis in quantitative methods, econometrics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics during the first and second semesters. After that, students may specialise either in applied economics or in applied finance.

This Master’s program is both theoretically and internationally oriented. It is designed to equip students with the knowledge, methods, and skills necessary for their future professional careers as economists, financial analysts, or managers, in both the private and public sectors, locally or internationally. Graduates find jobs with various companies such as consultancy firms, financial institutions, insurance agencies, etc. Moreover, the study program prepares students with the necessary business and economic knowledge to join a doctoral study program (PhD) in this field.

Learn more about our Master’s study program FINEC here.

There are NO tuition fees for the program.
