The Deggendorf Institute of Technology is a state-funded, young, modern, and very well-equipped technical university of applied sciences that was founded in 1994. The university, known as the Technische Hochschule Deggendorf in German, provides relevant and modern degree courses set in a friendly, relaxed, and safe environment. International professors, support staff, and students create a multicultural flair on the university’s two campuses: the main campus in Deggendorf and the European Campus Rottal-Inn. In total, over 15% of the 6,400 students are from abroad.
The Master of Applied Computer Science program offered by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Media Technology and Computer Science teaches its students advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of computer science and electronics, which form the basis for developing complex embedded systems. From the first semester onward, the students not only gain theoretical expertise but also acquire hands-on, application-oriented training. The 20+ in-house laboratories, the additional tech campuses, partnerships with private industries, and involvement in a variety of research projects allow the students ample opportunities and choices to work with real and current challenges in the design, testing, research, and development of embedded systems while paying attention to increasingly important security aspects. Graduates of the program are capable of meeting the requirements of software development tasks in this high-tech field. Particularly, the program imparts essential advanced technical knowledge and know-how in selected areas of computer science and electronic technology which are required for the development of complex electronic Embedded Systems. The program can be studied entirely in English. However, students wishing to complete the course only in English will be very limited in their choice of compulsory electives.
There are NO tuition fees for the program.
Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field). Work experience after completing the first university degree is not required for approval. If German is not the candidate’s first language, German A2 certification must be provided by the end of the second semester.
