Focussing on health and medicine tourism, the Bachelor of International Tourism Management represents a new and exciting angle of Tourism Management studies, which is unique to our university.

In addition to being designed around the global trend towards health and medical tourism, the structure of this modular degree course supports regional luxury spas and healthcare facilities in the renowned Bad Birnbach, Bad Griesbach, and Bad Füssing spa triangle.

In a world of ever-increasing multicultural globalisation, great importance is placed on the development of students’ language skills. The course language is English and/or German for the first two semesters with a concentration on English in the later semesters. All students start with a minimum English level of B2. Continual English lessons are given throughout the foundation semesters to develop proficiency up to level C1 within the first two semesters.

International Tourism Management module groups are:

  • Language competence (semesters 1-2)
  • Science and methodology (semesters 1-4)
  • Business administration (semesters 1-4)
  • Tourism management (semesters 1-7)
  • Taxes and law (semesters 2-4)
  • Medical tourism (semesters 2-7)
  • International competence (semesters 6-7)
  • Practical competence (semesters 5-7)

This degree course is seven semesters in duration, with six of the semesters being based on theory. The fifth semester is reserved for an 18-week internship semester, during which students acquire and improve their social and international skills.
